Touching Memory is an interactive light installation created as a personal memorial to the artist’s cat, serving as a visceral response to loss and companionship. The work takes the form of a glowing, translucent jellyfish. Within its dome, a visible skeletal structure is embedded with light bulbs, acting as the structural container for cherished memories. Below, soft, flowing tentacles integrate LED strips that create a descending path of illumination.

The installation invites a tactile ritual: when the viewer gently touches the tentacle-like sensors, light is activated, flowing sequentially from the "brain" through the internal skeleton to the tentacles. This physical act transforms remembrance into a bodily interaction. Here, lighting transcends its role as a static commemorative gesture to become an emotional medium. The jellyfish symbolizes softness, protection, and a non-aggressive presence—a quiet companion. The inner skeleton represents the structural core of memory, holding the weight of personal history. Rather than a traditional, heavy monument, this luminous vessel transforms mourning into an ongoing, gentle process, allowing remembrance to glow, flow, and reappear through repeated acts of touch.
